FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is ClaimWay?

ClaimWay is a claims collaboration platform that links insurance appraisers and claim handlers directly. Assignments, communication, files, reports and billing all live on one shared claim file.

Who is ClaimWay for?

ClaimWay is built for both sides of the claim: claim handlers and adjusters who assign and review work, and independent appraisers who inspect, estimate and report.

Does ClaimWay support field inspections and desk reviews?

Yes. Field inspections can be dispatched by location, and desk reviews happen on the same claim file where photos, estimates and messages are stored.

How does ClaimWay reduce cycle time?

By replacing email chains, phone tag and scattered attachments with real-time status, live messaging and a single source of truth for every claim, work moves to the next step as soon as it is ready.

Glossary

Claims terms, explained

Appraiser
A licensed professional who inspects damage, documents it and prepares an estimate of repair cost or value for an insurance claim.
Claim handler
The insurer-side professional (often an adjuster or examiner) who manages a claim, assigns work and approves estimates and payments.
Field inspection
An in-person inspection of a damaged vehicle or property, typically performed by an appraiser at the loss location or repair facility.
Desk review
A review of an estimate and its supporting photos and documents performed remotely, without a physical inspection.
Supplement
An additional estimate submitted after the original when more damage is found, often once repairs have begun.
Cycle time
The time it takes a claim (or a step within it) to go from first notice or assignment to completion.
Total loss
A determination that the cost to repair exceeds a set threshold of the property’s value, so the insurer pays its value instead of repairs.
